October 23, 2011, “Spiritual Visions” Bruce Vogt

Bruce Vogt (piano)

Franz Liszt (1811-1886) was a performing artist – the most celebrated of the 19th century. He was also one of that century’s  greatest and most original composers. But he was also a deeply spiritual man who in later life took minor orders and became known as Abbe Liszt. In this second bicentenary concert, virtuoso pianist Bruce Vogt showcased the generous, humanitarian and visionary aspects of Liszt’s life and music, proving the monumental place Liszt held in 19th-century and all future music.
